The consumer that will use what you create to better their lives because it fills a gap with a human impact (not just as a gadget or frivolous time waster - although there is a need for that too).
It took me time in my career to come to this perspective because in the beginning, I felt it was all about the technology and what was coming next…
I started my career in IT at the bottom, literally - working down manholes in the South Bronx splicing telephone cables. I soon moved out of splicing taking more traditional technical and management IT roles, ultimately rising to CIO before co-founding Fraimers. I’ve worked for and with some amazing companies. While on my career path I got a deep and a technical education. But ultimately my deepest and most meaningful lessons came from my interactions with the people I was surrounded by.
Having worked for many companies including Verizon, IBM, UNOS (United Network of Organ Sharing), and Cranemasters, it has been quite a journey, and ultimately led me to create Fraimers. Filling many roles at these diverse companies, from an individual contributor through executive, I have been presented with many different perspectives. It truly is a gift to wear all of these hats over the years - working and engaging with people at all levels of organizations. I love learning new industries, so their variety throughout my career was no accident. One of the most intriguing things about Fraimers is the endless possibilities of learning about yours.
Here’s what I’ve found… Satisfaction comes from answering a true need or working with a group to solve a problem. Joy comes when you see you made somebody's life better (whether it be a colleague or customer). Where fulfilling a need and improving lives intersect, that is where I find true happiness.
